Questions
- How do I turn a photo into a cross stitch pattern?
- Upload it, and the maker shrinks it to the stitch count you chose, matches every stitch to the nearest DMC floss colour, and keeps the chart to the number of colours you asked for. Each colour gets its own symbol, and the key lists the DMC number beside it.
- What size will my finished piece be?
- It depends on your fabric. 14-count Aida has 14 stitches to the inch, so a 70 × 70 stitch chart comes out at 5 × 5 in (12.7 cm). Switch between 11, 14, 16 and 18 count and the finished size updates.
- How much floss do I need?
- The colour list estimates skeins per colour for two strands on your chosen fabric, with an allowance for starting, finishing and travelling across the back. It rounds up, so treat it as a shopping list rather than an exact measure.
- Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
- Charts up to 64 stitches wide are made entirely in your browser — the picture never leaves your device. Only the larger member canvases are processed on the server, which caches them briefly to speed up regeneration and never publishes them.
